Sega Rally Parks on 360, PS3
Next-gen debut for the series thanks to new handlers at UK Driving Studio.
Sega's road to next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo is being lined with game announcements. Not long after revealing that it's bringing Virtua Tennis 3 to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Sega has announced that its new Sega Rally game will do likewise.
The new game will not, however, be made by series creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who has since moved out on his own. Instead the game is the first to come from the company's new Driving Studio based in the UK.
"The rally genre has become the domain of ultra realistic simulation based titles that portray the sport in minute detail but offer little in terms of fun," says Guy Wilday, head of Sega Driving Studio.
"With the emphasis being on entertainment, Sega Rally will focus on delivering an adrenaline fuelled competitive racing experience but without over-complicating the rally experience."
Apart from the fun, you can also expect to find two- and four-wheel-drive cars and even classic motors from yesteryear. Sega is also promising intelligent opponents that react to your driving style and tracks that change during races.
Sega Rally (or Sega Rally Revo in the US) will be out for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC sometime in 2007.
