Sega Brings Full Auto Sequel to PS3
The company always said Full Auto would be multiplatform but we didn't expect a sequel quite so fast.
Automotive destruction has been a staple of Sony console launches since the beginning and it's looking like it'll be no different for the PlayStation 3. Sega announced on Tuesday that it would bring the follow-up to Full Auto to the new console.
When Full Auto was being shopped around last year, developer Pseudo Interactive said that it would bring the game to Sony's new system too, so the revelation that it's actually the sequel, Full Auto 2: Battlelines, that will turn up is somewhat surprising.
The game takes the basic formula of Full Auto - drive fast, destroy your opponents and try to avoid your own demise - and boosts it for the PlayStation 3.
The "combat-enhanced and fully re-designed" game now has 20 dynamic tracks that criss-cross the fictional burg of Staunton City and offers you 25 vehicles to steer. The weapon count has been upped to 20, and you'll even be able to modify your car's appearance.
The centrepiece of the experience is still the Unwreck feature, which lets you roll back time so that you can dodge death or carve through a tight corner better.
As fun as solitary destruction is, though, it still doesn't compare to blowing up people you know, so the team has implemented six online multiplayer modes that focus on team play.
Sega isn't talking about release dates yet for Full Auto 2: Battlelines on PlayStation 3, though, as with the Xbox 360, it's fair to assume the team is aiming for launch day.
