Snake Sneaks Into Wii Super Smash Bros
Now you can finally end the argument over whether the Metal Gear hero can outfight Pikachu.
One of the first games revealed to be in the works for the Wii, back when it was still known as the Revolution, was a new Super Smash Bros. Not much has come out about the game, that is, until Nintendo's hush-hush unveiling of the game earlier this week.
Super Smash Bros Brawl is unique in that it's one of the few games Nintendo is working on that will not use the motion-sensing abilities of the Wii. Instead, the millions of Super Smash Bros fans can apply the skills they've honed in the GameCube game.
"We found that trying to implement too much motion-sensory functionality can get in the way of the game," Masahiro Sakurai, the game's producer at Nintendo, said in an interview with IGN. "We're looking at keeping the control simple, as it has been."
"The Wii hardware has sockets for the GameCube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet."
A big draw in the series has always been the Nintendo universe-spanning character roster. For this latest instalment, that line-up is bigger still, with Wario, Zero Suit Samus, Pit from Kid Icarus and Snake from Konami's Metal Gear series.
