Dalmatians Move Into Nintendogs Kennel
A fourth pup joins Nintendo's happy litter.
Nintendo's already crowded kennel will grow that little bit bigger this summer with the revelation that another breed is joining the Nintendogs family. The Chihuahua, Labrador and Dachshund flavours will soon be sniffing and licking at the latest addition - Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends.
Getting hold of the Dalmatian in the previous versions was far from easy, so Nintendo has decided to simplify things for spotted-canine lovers by making the breed available right from the start. If you're not a fan of Dalmatians, there are another five breeds to choose from, with a further 14 sitting patiently to be unlocked.
The game comes with the same gameplay that has turned the original trio into a hit across the world and in Europe in particular. You can train your puppy to take part in various competitions and teach it tricks too. And the WiFi-enabled Bark Mode lets you know when other Nintendogs players are in the area, letting you unlock more of the breeds in the game.
Nintendogs is part of Nintendo's Touch Generation range of games, which are aimed at bringing in people who have never played games before. The company's confidence comes from sales of the Nintendogs franchise, which stand at 6 million - 2.5 million of which come from Europe.
Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends will be out for DS in Europe on 16 June. For more on the series, check out Nintendo's Touch Generations site.
