Halo 3 Trailer Documentary Released

And you can get it inside in glorious HD right now.

Halo developer Bungie teased earlier in the week that it was working on a documentary that would take you inside the helmet, as it were, of Master Chief, to see how things came about for the recent Halo 3 trailer, show off last month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. No date was given, but it seems we didn't have to wait long at all.

The behind-the-scenes featurette, which you can download now from Kikizo in amazing high-definition (see below), gives you an idea of the sort of work required to pump out a trailer for one of the most eagerly awaited games on all time.

It contains not only interviews with some of the people that worked on the trailer but also clips that didn't make the final cut - mostly different angles for the same shots and stuff like that.

But is there more? Bungie's community manager says in a post on the team's site that the eagle-eyed might find "hints of things to come."

Halo 3 will be the last instalment in the popular trilogy. According to Microsoft, in the game "Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax".

The description may be vague but it'll be good enough for the millions of people left hanging by the conclusion to Halo 2. That game sold so well at its release in November 2004 that Microsoft declared the launch the most successful day in entertainment history, with sales of the game hitting $125 million in just 24 hours.
