Ninety-Nine Nights in August
One of the Xbox 360's biggest game developed in the East is coming West later this year.
Stocked as the Xbox 360 shelves may be, there's still one gaping hole: Japanese games. Thankfully, things are finally coming together for one of the first of the big Japanese-developed games Microsoft has worked so hard to secure for the console.
Ninety-Nine Nights is an action game in the vein of Dynasty Warriors that is concerned with battleground devastation on a massive scale. The game comes courtesy of Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the man behind such diverse hits as Sega Rally, Rez and Space Channel 5. With its home region taken care of, Ninety-Nine Nights is now being prepped for release in the West later this year.
Microsoft has confirmed that the game will be out in the US this August. The company has yet to pick a date for Europe, though it's likely that we won't need to wait much longer.
All parties involved in the making of Ninety-Nine Nights will be looking for a better response in the West than the game got when it was released in Japan and surrounding areas earlier in the year. With the Xbox 360 warming the bottom of the hardware sales charts in Japan, there simply weren't enough consoles out there to make the game a commercial success.
