DS Lites for Well-Healed Travellers
Though if you ask us they're giving the incentive to the wrong people.
The next time you take a trip to Japan, you may want to rethink your choice of airline. Japanese carrier JAL has announced a new offer giving passengers on certain routes the chance to while away the hours with a DS Lite.
The offer, which runs until the end of August, covers flights between Tokyo and seven top destinations, including London, New York and San Francisco.
Once on board, simply ask the cabin crew for a DS Lite and you'll be given one of four games: Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?, Eigo Ga Nigate Na Otono No DS Training (English training), Touch Golf, or Mario Kart DS.
Don't, however, think you'll be spending 12 hours racing against your fellow passengers. Nintendo will be giving JAL retooled DS Lites with their WiFi abilities disabled.
But don't get too excited just yet. There's one small catch.
The offer is only open to tickets booked in the executive and first classes. And at around £7,000 for a first-class return ticket between London and Tokyo, the odds are that if you can afford the ticket, you can afford to pick up a DS Lite in the Duty Free area.
Still, it's a nice thought.
