Black DS Lites Go Missing in Hong Kong
A few hundred thousands people are going to be disappointed by this news.
As Apple proved with the success of the black MacBook recently, people love sexy black gadgets and can't help but put their hands on one - or 18,000 of them if you're the person who made a shipment of black DS Lites disappear this week.
Reports are vague at the moment but it seems that there was a robbery at a port in Hong Kong. The crooks are reported to have got away with a full shipment of black DS Lites with a street value of around $2.3 million.
The Hong Kong authorities are on the case and have reportedly offered a reward of HK$1 million (around $130,000) for information that leads to a successful arrest.
The real question Europeans are asking now is not "What number do I call for the reward?" but rather "Does this mean I've been gypped out of a black DS Lite?"
We went to Nintendo to find out whether it could confirm the story or allay our newborn fears but they sent us back empty-handed.
The DS Lite is set to hit stores across Europe on Friday, 23 June in white and (hopefully) black variants.
