Psychonauts Dev Wants His Game on 360
But Microsoft seems intent on keeping Mr Schafer in a state of perpetual rage.
If you're getting tired of hearing about the backward compatibility on the Xbox 360, your name isn't Tim Schafer. The respected game maker and the man behind last year's award-winning-but-till-shy Psychonauts has taken to the clarion to get his cult-hit game playable on the Xbox 360.
In a somewhat-rantish tirade on developer Double Fine's site, Schafer expresses his displeasure at Microsoft's inability to get his game playing on the Xbox 360.
Microsoft has had a hard time lately when it comes to backward compatibility. Company vice president Peter Moore suggested that Microsoft would be winding down support for Xbox games on the Xbox 360, then later said he had been misinterpreted.
As if to prove his point (or perhaps spurred on by the torrent of attention the comments drew), Microsoft released a patch this week that put 21 more Xbox games on the backward compatible list, which is now well over 200 deep - but still no Psychonauts.
Schafer says he's not had any luck speaking directly to luck asking Microsoft to get his game working on the Xbox 360 and so he has turned to the Internet, asking that people e-mail Microsoft and demand that the game be added.
