Little Fallout From DS Lite Heist
Crooks run off with a few thousand of the sought-after handheld, but you've got nothing to worry about.
The DS Lite will make its debut across Europe on Friday, but it seems that there won't be as many of them to go around as Nintendo had originally intended. The company today confirmed earlier reports of a missing shipment of DS Lites bound for Europe.
According to a report at Next Generation, a shipment of nearly 13,000 DS Lites earmarked for delivery in the UK was stolen last week when two men held up a truck.
Nintendo has refused to say exactly how many were taken, but a company spokesman told Kikizo that it was less than the reported number.
It was at first thought that the missing DS Lites were all of the black persuasion, but our Nintendo contact said that it is actually a shipment of the white model that was nicked.
The logical question upon hearing about this is whether there will be any fallout when the handheld is released. Nintendo has allayed those fears, saying that it shouldn't have much effect.
The DS Lite will be out on Friday in the UK and across Europe on Friday, 23 June.
