Sony Drops Trilogy Hints for God of War
And if there's one thing we want more of, it's money. And God of War.
Kratos' brutal adventures in Sony's God of War were well received by reviewers, even if the audience didn't buy into it as much, and it's looking like the sequel, recently shown at E3, could be one of the last great games on the PlayStation 2. But if things go well, that may not be the end of it.
"I would love to see a trilogy happen," Cory Barlog, director of God of War II, told UK site CVG. "Dave [Jaffe, director of the first game] and I have a pretty similar view as to where the story of Kratos should go and it does play itself out in a trilogy."
But Barlog tempered his remarks by admitting that outside of the imminent sequel, there are no other adventures in store for Kratos yet.
"We are telling the continuation of Kratos' life as we left off from the first game," he said. "The story in God of War II will begin to show a larger view of Kratos' role within the mythological world."
Rumours abounded earlier in the year that God of War would be coming to the PlayStation 3, but those dissolved when Sony announced God of War II as coming only to the PlayStation 2.
