Point Blank Shoots to the DS
Namco's fun shooting game is fired on to Nintendo's new portable with touch-screen goodness.
Shooting games are not the first thing you think of when considering games for the DS but then Namco Bandai's Point Blank series has never been typical. Styled more like a carnival shooting game than a grizzled portrayal of World War II, the Point Blank series is now trading light-guns for styli as it heads to the DS.
Point Blank DS is at once a collection of the best that the series has brought in its previous instalments and a glimpse of what the series is now capable of. The 40 levels feature some ripped straight from the past three Point Blank games and others made specifically for this version.
As you'd imagine, the control scheme is now dependent on tapping the touch-screen rather than firing with a light-gun. This version even ventures into Brain Training territory with a new mode that tests your reflexes in the new Brain Massage mode.
And you'll be able to invite a friend to join in the fun through multiplayer using only one cartridge.
Point Blank DS will be out sometime this autumn.
