Sony Fires Up PlayStation 3 Site
Still no pricing details for the UK, but Sony has thrown together a home for the PS3.
If you consider all the back-biting going on between Sony and Microsoft over hardware and the aspects of the PlayStation 3 that we still don't know much about, it's easy to forget that Sony's new game console is coming out in less than five months. But coming it is, and as proof, Sony has birthed the official PlayStation 3 home page.
The site's main purpose right now is to serve as a primer for those just getting to grips with what the PlayStation 3 will offer. There are screens and videos for a smattering of in-house PlayStation 3 games and, perhaps most importantly, a "PS3 Explained" section where common questions about high-definition TV and the advanced technologically offerings of the PlayStation 3 are answered.
There's not much new to be found here, though it does confirm that all PSone and PlayStation 2 games will be playable on the PlayStation 3.
Another interesting snippet relates to the price. Even on the British version of the page, the only reference to pricing is for the continental versions, which come in €500 and €600 configurations.
Visit the official PlayStation 3 home page for more.
