Grand Theft Auto Devours Prey
Tommy the Mechanic seems to be no match for Toni the Mobster - at least for now.
Alien-themed shooter Prey was a decade in the making and even after all that time it still managed to turn out well, according to most reviewers. But that still wasn't enough to fell Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, which assumes the top spot on the UK sales chart for another week.
Things below Prey look similar to previous weeks, with New Super Mario Bros still hanging tough near the top of the ranking, just like its DS stable-mate, the self-improvement non-game Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?
The real story this week is the rise of movie tie-in games. There are two games for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest in the Top 10, and EA makes an appearance there too thanks to the debut of Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II.
Below are the top 10 games in the UK for the week ending 15 July, as determined by Chart Track:
- Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Rockstar)
- Prey (2K Games)
- New Super Mario Bros (Nintendo)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Buena Vista)
- Over the Hedge (Activision)
- Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? (Nintendo)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (Konami)
- FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 (EA)
- Lord of The Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II (EA)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Legend of Jack Sparrow (Buena Vista)
