Cars Beat Boats and Brains in UK
Few new releases leaves it all to THQ's Pixar movie tie-in to lose... which it didn't.
Automobiles outnumber ships three-to-two on the charts this week, and it's Pixar's movie-turned-game that has the pleasure of occupying the driver's seat for a second week in a row.
Cars' success in the all-formats chart (see below) translates to No. 1 finishes on all platforms (PS2, PSP, Xbox, GameCube, GBA) except PC and DS, proving more than enough to best Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and its measly two platforms.
Caring for your grey matter is still a matter of some importance to Britons, and Nintendo's facilitator is actually getting more popular, with sales of Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? up a fraction compared to last week.
Below are the top 10 games in the UK for the week ending 5 August, as determined by Chart Track:
- Cars (THQ)
- Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Rockstar)
- New Super Mario Bros (Nintendo)
- Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? (Nintendo)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (Konami)
- The Sims (EA)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Buena Vista)
- The Sims 2 (EA)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Legend of Jack Sparrow (Ubisoft)
- Formula One 06 (Sony)
