Bully Defends Itself in October
Rockstar's high school simulator is coming only to the PlayStation 2 later this year.
Jimmy Hopkins is hoping to get a fresh start at Bullworth Academy, the private school that serves as the setting for Rockstar's new game Bully. His home life hasn't always been pleasant, and now he's faced with a new school and all the hardships that come with it. How he'll get on is up to you.
Rockstar hasn't had much to say about Bully over the last year. This is probably because the company had enough to worry about, especially with public opinion going against it thanks to the scandal unleashed when hidden sexual content in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was unearthed.
But people have already lit their torches for the next round. Just the concept was enough to rile up anti-bullying groups in the US and in the UK - even though none of them had played it.
"Finally Bully can speak for itself," Rockstar's Rodney Walker told news service Reuters. "People can look at the game and see what it is and what it's not."
The game puts you in the uncomfortable shoes of a new kid at a posh school. Bullying isn't the goal, says the New York Times, but rather just fitting in with the complex social animal that is high school.
Will he (and you) manage? You'll find out in October, when Bully is released for the PlayStation 2.
