Will Wright has had an amazing run in the games industry. His current hit series, The Sims, is among the top sellers ever, and his new game, Spore, is taking that idea much further. But you're going to have to wait for it.
Wright told GameSpot this week that Spore would probably be out for PC during the second half of 2007. Wright said in a separate interview with The Guardian that he sees Spore not as simply a PC game but rather as an entire franchise, but there's still no solid information on when the game could appear on any other platforms.
The new release timeframe puts the game still a long way off, but you'll be able to get a glimpse of it if you're in Germany later this month. Wright will be at Games Convention 2006, which runs from 23-27 August in Leipzig.
Spore takes the idea of the creator (as seen in The Sims) to the next level, letting you make creature, worlds and much more. For more information, visit the official Spore site.
