Mega Drive Classics Come to PS2, PSP
Waiting for your Sega fix on the Virtual Console? You might want to check this one out first.
The Xbox Live Arcade is a fantastic way to bring classic games to a new generation of gamers. So is Nintendo's Virtual Console, which also lets you download older titles. But as cool as downloadable games are, there's something to be said for a disc full of games, which is why Sega is putting together a massive collection of its older hits for Sony's current systems.
Sega Genesis Collection is, as the name so subtly implies, a compendium of games that originally appeared on Sega's 16-bit Mega Drive (Genesis in the US). The collection spans 31 games and offers not only Sega's biggest series that live on still today, but also some that have nearly been forgotten.
The list of games is a who's who of the best series Sega created during its hardware heyday and includes Sonic The Hedgehog, Shinobi and Phantasy Star.
And that's not all. In addition to all this classic fun, Sega is also including interviews with some of the game creators and other bits and bobs you'll be able to unlock, such a trivia and hints for some of the games.
