Too Human Engine Still Ticking Over
The internet turns out to not be filled with truth and only truth. Shocking.
The reports hit with a thud - Silicon Knights was pushing back its 10-years-in-the-making game Too Humanhaving trouble with Epic's Unreal Engine 3 middleware tool. Going back to an in-house game engine would cause a big delay. There was only one problem: the reports were wrong.
Microsoft took the unusual step yesterday of knocking down rumours that had plagued Too Human. The usual response is one of stony silence, prompting some to wonder whether there was some truth hidden in the vehement denial.
"Silicon Knights continues to build Too Human using the Unreal Engine 3, tailoring it to fit the needs of the game and ensure the most efficient use of the technology," reads a statement by Microsoft, reported by Next Generation.
"Rumours of Too Human experiencing production challenges that will cause massive delays are false. Too Human is progressing very well and we expect that gamers will be extremely excited with Too Human when we next show it."
That would appear to be it, then. If development is coming along as swimmingly as the Microsoft presents it, Too Human should show up at the company's X06 conference, which is being held in early October. The game is still expected to arrive in the first half of 2007.
