Ubisoft Flies Blazing Angels to PS3
The World War II flight game continues its non-stop trip around the console world.
Not content with the three platforms it already has under checked off, Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII is coming to the PlayStation 3, Ubisoft has revealed. The company says it will be ready for the console's launch on 17 November.
The game is set during the biggest air battles of World War II. That means you'll be spending plenty of time in the skies above war torn Europe (including England, during the Battle of Britain), but there are others missions that take place during the Pearl Harbor strike and America's retaliation at the Battle of Midway.
Response for the previous versions has been mostly positive, and Ubisoft's Romanian development team is said to be sprucing the game up for the PlayStation 3. Part of this is to make "innovative use of the PlayStation 3 controller," which means we'll probably see the game arrive with a similar tilt-control mechanism to that of Sony's Warhawk.
It's also encouraging to note that online multiplayer will be running on PlayStation 3 from day one, as Ubisoft says the game will support 16-player online play.
