Sony Reveals Tokyo Game Show Line-Up
Not much new in the offing but it looks like we're going to get to see quite a few of the launch games in action.
While it's an exaggeration to say that Sony is in trouble, the company could use a run of good fortunate (and press coverage) to counter the negative vibe surrounding its new products. The PSP is being spanked in Japan and the PlayStation 3 is getting criticised daily. A good performance at the Tokyo Game Show will go a long way to fixing this.
Sony said this week that it would have 27 PlayStation 3 games on the show floor, for people to play. The company has now revealed most of those games (see the list below), through its Japanese web site.
There are no real surprises on the list, though it's a sign that Sony is confident that these games are in a good enough place in their development cycle to show them off to the scrutiny of the public.
Sony hasn't revealed yet which games will be ready when the console launches in Japan on 11 November and outside Japan on 17 November, but it's a good bet that most of the launch titles will come from these two-dozen-or-so.
The PSP will also get a big push at the show, with 16 new games confirmed as playable, including some that use the new GPS add-on. Demos will be available, and, unlike last year, you'll be able to save them on a memory card to play later.
The Tokyo Game Show runs from 22-24 September, with the latter two days being open to the public. Below is a list of the games Sony has confirmed it'll have at the show for the PSP and the PlayStation 3.
