TOCA Race Driver Revs Up for PSP Exclusive
Codemasters insists that the PAL region-exclusive driving game is not just a rehash of the console game. First screens inside.
Codemasters' TOCA Race Driver series has developed a healthy following thanks to its varied driving styles and interesting meshing of story and gameplay. PSP fans are in for a special treat with the news that the developer is crafting a fresh instalment in the series just for the handheld.
TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge is an offshoot of the main TOCA Race Driver 3, which was released earlier this year for consoles and PC. Codemasters says the game is being built with an eye to "burst play", meaning you'll easily be able to squeeze in a few laps before it's your turn at the bank teller.
The core of the game is the World Challenge (read: career) mode, where you advance through various tiers, each time learning new road moves. As you make it to new tiers you'll also move on to different regions around the world.
As Codemasters notes in its press release this is an "evolution" of TOCA Race Driver 3 rather than being simply a "handheld adaptation". You can find out more about the game at Codemasters' site.
TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge is coming only to PSP and only in Europe and other PAL regions this winter. If you want to see what the game will not be a rehash of, check out our full review of TOCA Race Driver 3.
