Rayman Raves on Other Consoles Too
Ubisoft has been pushing the Wii version, but the company has confirmed that it is coming to other platforms too later this year.
Ubisoft has done a good job of convincing people that Rayman's new adventure in the quirky looking Rayman Raving Rabbids will be a lot of fun on the Wii, but it's been less open about any other platforms the game is coming to. No more.
The company said on Tuesday that Rayman Raving Rabbids is headed to consoles other than the Wii - a lot of them, in fact. Aside from Nintendo's new system, the game is also coming to PlayStation 2, PC, Game Boy Advance, and the current portable frontrunner, the DS.
Rayman's creator, Michel Ancel, said in a recent interview that the game is coming to "the landscape of current and next gen consoles," but it's not clear if the game will still be confirmed for the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360.
Ancel described Rayman Raving Rabbids as a comedy along the lines of Mars Attacks or Monty Python. "I'd like it to sound absurd and funny," he said.
The story sees Rayman go up against the marauding titular rabbits, which are out to conquer the world. Along the way he'll have to save his girlfriend too.
Ubisoft previous said Rayman Raving Rabbids would be a launch title for the Wii (whenever that may be), and it'll be coming to the rest of its platforms in late 2006. Check out www.raymanzone.com for more.
