Call of Duty 2 Claims a Million
The World War II shooter crosses its first major milestone on the Xbox 360.
Each week, Microsoft's Larry Hryb reports the most popular games on the Xbox 360 through his personal blog, and almost every week Activision's Call of Duty 2 ends up on top of the list. Little surprise then that the company has announced it's hit a new milestone in the US.
More than a million copies of Call of Duty 2 have been sold since the game launched alongside the Xbox 360 late last year, according to new numbers from the wonks at NPD Funworld.
The company beamed with pride at the news, though there was no doubt also a sense of expectation. The company is prepping the next iteration, Call of Duty 3, for release later this year on not only the Xbox 360 but also the Wii and the PlayStation 3.
There's no word on how well the game has done so far in Europe, but demand has dropped off - especially now that publishers have started pushing out Xbox 360 games again.
