Wii Launch Event Video Coverage Blowout
Satoru Iwata's complete 15-minute English-language presentation, footage of Wii Boxing, Henman and Rusedski playing NoE at Wii Tennis, and much more.
It was a ridiculously busy week for Nintendo staff everywhere, as the company co-ordinated three major Wii press events around the world in two days, with global president Satoru Iwata making his way from the Tokyo premiere to the London finale to add his personal touch to the western proceedings.
With around 700 hand-picked attentees, the pan-European event was a significantly bigger affair than the 180 guests invited to the New York event the day before - and a fitting conclusion to the week's activities, with a slick show that was undoubtedly one of Nintendo's most effective seen on UK soil.
We wrap up our coverage of the event today with two features. Firstly, you need to check out our exclusive video interview with Nintendo's UK boss David Yarnton, for detailed insight into the Wii launch details, Wii Channel, WiiConnect24, Virtual Console, and much more.
Then, we're spoiling you further with the videos presented on this page. You can watch NCL boss Satoru Iwata's full 15-minute presentation; get your first impression of Wii Sports: Boxing gameplay; see an extensive match of Wii Sports: Tennis between NOE's Laurent Fischer and Satoru Shibata versus tennis aces Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski; get the lowdown on Euro launch details; then see out how Iwata 'moved' the audience at the conclusion of the briefing.
That's a whole lot of Wii video content, online here for the first time anywhere, to keep you busy. All this video includes direct audio, too. And we'll follow up shortly with a bunch of new trailers and gameplay videos. That's if we can breathe in between catching up on a huge backlog of video interviews, and making it worse in Tokyo this week and X06 next week. Somebody help!
