Sony Launches Resistance Site
New online home for what many are calling the biggest game of the PlayStation 3 launch.
One of the more promising games coming for the PlayStation 3 is Resistance: Fall of Man. The European launch of the console may be pushed back, but the US one is still a go, so Sony is pushed ahead, launching a new online home for the game this week.
Resistance: Fall of Man tells a quasi-alternate history story, where World War II never happened and aliens known as the Chimera invaded instead. The story is set in England, but not as you know it. The country has been devastated by the marauders, who have spread from as far as Russia.
The game is the latest from Insomniac, who you may know better as the developer of more friendly fare, including the Ratchet & Clank series and early games in the Spyro the Dragon series. It's getting a lot of attention, in large part because of the prospect of 40-player online modes over Sony's online network.
Resistance: Fall of Man is on track to launch alongside the PlayStation 3 in the US later this year. Europeans will need to wait until the delayed launch next March to see what the fuss is about. In the meantime, you can check out the game's official site.
