PS3, PSP Hit With Oblivion
The massive RPG is coming to the PlayStation 3 for launch, and there is a PSP version coming too.
Bethesda's massively singleplayer RPG Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been one of the most talked about games on the Xbox 360. It's long been rumoured that the game would come to the PlayStation 3. Now the game's creator has finally confirmed the talk and announced that a new version is coming to the PSP too.
The PlayStation 3 version of the game will include all the stuff Xbox 360 owners have been enjoying since the game's debut earlier this year and also extra content. Part of this is a new faction called the Knights of the Nine, and a new quest that sees you trying to become the Divine Crusader, according to 1Up via Official PlayStation Magazine.
"Oblivion has these really good character archetypes for evil," Bethesda's Todd Howard told Official PlayStation Magazine. "It has the Dark Brotherhood: You get your outfit, you feel like an assassin, you feel like an evil guy, [and] you role-play like an evil guy. We [didn't] have the opposite end of that. There [was] very little reward for being a goody two-shoes."
Howard says the idea for adding a new faction was to allow you to become something different rather than simply playing different content.
And, good news if you've been sitting out waiting for the announcement. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be out on PlayStation 3 at launch in both America and Japan.
There's little information on the PSP version of the game right now. According to 1Up, Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, as it's been titled, will play like the the console version but will feature very different locations. The game is due next spring.
