Mizuguchi Adds Own Tune to Lumines II
The affable creator is contributing a track of his own to his upcoming puzzler sequel.
Ask PSP owners what they're playing now and you're sure to hear many tales of people still playing Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi's addictive puzzle game Lumines. There's a sequel coming later this year, but you can get an early look at one of the music videos right now.
At first glance, Heavenly Star may seem like many of the other songs that have made their way into the series, but this one is different because it's the first song and video produced by Mizuguchi himself. You can check it out on YouTube or MySpace.
Heavenly Star is just one of the songs and videos that will be in this year's Lumines II, which is coming to PSP on 8 November. Other performers in the game include Beck, Chemical Brothers, Missy Elliot and New Order.
The game also expands on the original in every way. There are 100 puzzles to get through in the straight Puzzle mode and 50 missions to taunt you in Mission mode. You'll also be able to play in local wireless networks.
And the PSP isn't the only place you can get your Lumines fix. Mizuguchi is already working on Lumines Live, which will be out on the Xbox Live Arcade at some point.
