Microsoft Lands Splinter Cell Exclusive
The next game in the popular series will be coming to the Xbox 360 only.
Ubisoft's popular Splinter Cell series sneaked into existence on the original Xbox, so it's only fitting that, after flirtations with alternative platforms in recent years, the next game in the series should be similarly tied to Microsoft hardware.
The company announced late last week that Sam Fisher's new game, the one after this years Splinter Cell: Double Agent, would be coming only to the Xbox 360.
Officially there's no name for the game yet, but leaked documents point to it being titled Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Apart from the confirmation that it's coming, though, there's not all that much that Ubisoft is saying about the game right now, other than that it will take "full advantage" of the Microsoft's new hardware.
The news is just the latest to tether a game to the Xbox 360. Apart from in-house titles such as Gears of War and new Halo-themed RTS Halo Wars, third parties such as Konami, EA and more are putting their weight behind the console, choosing to skip the PlayStation 3 for this year at least.
