Heatseeker to Strike Wii and More
Codemasters heads to the skies in a new flight game coming to the Wii and others. First screens inside.
If you've watched Top Gun more times than you care to admit publicly and hanker to escape Newton's cruel grasp, you'll want to have a look at Codemasters' new flight game coming early next year.
New to Heatseeker, which is coming to PlayStation 2, PSP and Wii, is the Impact Cam, which lets you escape the cockpit to follow missiles to their final target. When you're not tailing projectiles, you'll be sitting in current and near-future fighter jets, including the F-22 Raptor, the F-15 Eagle, the Russian SU-47 Berkut, and more.
The game comes courtesy of IR Gurus, the Australian team responsible for last year's Heroes of the Pacific, from where Heatseeker is getting its core gameplay engine.
So far there's little we know about the Wii version, so we'll have to imagine how we would best use that console's motion-sensitive controller.
There's not much time to ponder, though. Heatseeker should be out for all three platforms this winter. You can find out more about the game at Codemasters' site.
