BAFTA Taps Ghost Recon as Top Game
The team-shooter is just one of the double-winners at the awards ceremony.
If the success of awards ceremony is to be judged by the calibre of the attendees, then the British Academy of Film and Television Arts can breathe easy.
Martin Scorsese may have skipped the do, but Gollum, better known as Andy Serkis, and Duran Duran dude Nick Rhodes added an element of sophistication to this year's British Academy Video Game Awards, which was held London's swanky Roundhouse on Thursday.
Of course, the games are what the event was all about, and it was a broad affair, with no one game dominating - as so often happens at these things. Sony did well, with both Shadow of the Colossus and LocoRoco earning two awards each, but it was Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, also a double winner, that took home the top prize.
Below is a roundup of all the BAVGA winners:
- Game: Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
- Action & Adventure: Shadow of the Colossus
- Simulation: The Movies
- Multiplayer: Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach
- Gameplay: Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
- Innovation: Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?
- Soundtrack: Guitar Hero
- Character: LocoRoco
- Artistic Achievement: Shadow of the Colossus
- Technical Achievement: Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
