Free Prey Updates Now Online
In a move that will unfortunately not set a precedent, Prey is getting free content downloads over Xbox Live.
Getting anything substantial for free at Microsoft's Xbox Live Marketplace is becoming something of a rarity, what with the rise and rise of microtransactions. But not everyone is out to milk gamers.
Developer 3D Realms said on Monday that it had put online new content for this year's topsy-turvy shooter Prey, and it's yours gratis.
The new content, which is also available to PC owners, includes five new characters and four new maps for use during the multiplayer portions of the game.
Prey is a first-person shooter where you play as Tommy, a Native American mechanic who rediscovers his roots after aliens invade and kidnap his girlfriend and grandfather. You can find out more about the game at www.prey.com, or check out our full review.
