FIFA Makes It Three on Top in the UK
The football game is settling in nicely to its spot at the top of the British game pile.
The football ranks have spoken and FIFA 07 seems to pass muster. For the third week in a row, EA's new football game is sat at the top of the weekly sales heap, though things will soon heat up as the series' main competitor, Pro Evolution Soccer 6, is readied for release.
Sales for this year's edition are down slightly over last year's, by Chart Track's reckoning, though the game will likely get a boost when FIFA 07 arrives for Xbox 360 next week, alongside Konami's football game.
It wasn't all balls on top, though, as Vivendi finally got around to pushing out its cash-in on classic gangster movie (and wellspring for many a rapper) Scarface. Tony Montana arrived sans Al Pacino's voice but Scarface: The World Is Yours still managed to hit No. 2 in its debut weekend.
The Top 10 games for the week ending 14 October, as determined by Chart Track, are below:
- FIFA 07 (EA)
- Scarface: The World Is Yours (Vivendi)
- Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (LucasArts)
- Just Cause (Eidos)
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (EA)
- Kingdom Hearts II (Square Enix)
- Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? (Nintendo)
- Cars (THQ)
- Championship Manager 2007 (Eidos)
- Project Gotham Racing 3 (Microsoft)
