The Warriors Assemble for PSP
Rockstar brings its movie-inspired game for the PS2 in the other direction, to the PSP.
The success of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories would appear to have given Rockstar a taste of what's possible on the PSP. Next up for the company is a portable tie-in to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, and there's more coming too. Rockstar said this week it is also working on a portable iteration of its recent movie game The Warriors.
The Warriors for PSP is being developed by Rockstar Leeds, the lead team behind all of the portable Rockstar games till now. The developer is working with Rockstar North to bring the action-heavy movie-cum-game to the platform.
"We are looking forward to setting the definitive bar for the brawler genre on the PSP system by delivering an extremely stylish and exceptionally deep experience," reckons Rockstar's Sam Houser.
The movie tells the story of a New York City gang targeted by rival gangs after they're falsely accused of killing a messiah figure hoping to bring together the antagonistic criminal elements rotting the city from within.
The Warriors will be out for the PSP later this year. For an idea of what to expect, check out the official site for the PlayStation 2 original.
