Clive Barker Spills Jericho's Guts
The horror master is coming to the next-gen, and we have the new screens to prove it.
There are many people who are well known for making warm, fuzzy worlds where everyone can feel safe. Clive Barker is not one of them. The accomplished writer and filmmaker has dabbled in games before, and his next one is a next-gen fright-fest called Jericho.
Clive Barker's Jericho - the full name, devised to help you remember who birthed the project - is a squad-based shooter, where you play a member of the seven-man elite anti-paranormal activity Jericho team.
What sets it apart with from the raft of other games with a similar CV is, according to Codemasters, an "overload of sensory horror shock as players journey through hellish locations and slices of time."
At the centre of the story is a dimensional rift located in the Middle Eastern city of Al-Khali, where the Jericho team must search through a dig and a research site for the rift and battle the baddies it spawned.
Jericho is being aimed for release towards the end of 2007. For more on the game and a glimpse of what it looks like in motion, visit Codemasters' official site at www.codemasters.com/jericho.
