Contra, Atari Classics Come to Live Arcade
Konami and Atari throw their weight in the classic game pot on the Xbox Live Arcade.
The Xbox Live Arcade has done well for Microsoft, but it has constantly suffered from a lack of regular additions to its ranks. Atari and Konami are planning to bolster that with seven new games coming in the next few months.
The first game to arrive is Konami's hit arcade game Contra, which will be available through the Xbox Live Marketplace on Wednesday, 8 November. The whole thing will cost 400 Microsoft points - that's around £4 - but you'll be able to sample it for free too.
Atari, meanwhile, is bringing quantity to the Arcade, with six new games arriving from January. Among the half-dozen are such vaunted classics as Tempest and Asteroids. The rest of the line-up includes: Centipede/Millipede, Battlezone, Missile Command and Warlord.
