Second Wave of Wii Classics Outed
ESRB reveals some of the new-slash-old games you will soon be playing on the Virtual Console.
With the first batch of games for the Wii Virtual Console readied for launch alongside the consoles later this month in the US and in December in Japan and Europe, things are already hotting up for the second round of games.
Thanks to the transparency of the US ratings boards, the ESRB, we now know eight more games coming soon to Nintendo's virtual game museum. Included in the list are such classics as Duck Hunt and PilotWings.
Unfortunately, this list only covers games due in the US, though it's likely that most of them will make it to Europe. Localisation issues are a sticking point and it's this that will likely hold back the European library as the Virtual Console matures.
The inclusion of Duck Hunt is getting people talking. At the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year, Nintendo showed off a light-gun accessory that would let you use the Wii remote as a light-gun.
Nintendo hasn't yet confirmed a release for this accessory, but the list suggests it might not be far off.
The full line up, reported by Joystiq, includes:
- Duck Hunt
- Hogan's Alley
- Kid Icarus
- Kirby's Adventure
- PilotWings
- Pro Wrestling
- Punch-Out
- Wild Gunman
