WoW Hits 7.5m, Burning Crusade Dated
Not long to go now before millions of role-players the world over will again start losing themselves in Blizzard's massively popular world.
It's already more than a year since Blizzard announced the first expansion pack to its stupendously popular online RPG World of Warcraft and still it's nowhere to be seen. That's a luxury the developer can enjoy. But there is hope for the record 7.5 million-plus subscribers to the game - hope in the form of a release date.
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade will be in stores on 16 January, Blizzard said this week.
Though the throngs that roam Blizzard's servers have been kept occupied by the regular updates to the game, many are eagerly awaiting this add-on's release.
Veterans of Azeroth, long tethered at the level 60 maximum of the current version of the game, can look forward to growing their characters to level 70 in the expansion. Other new stuff includes two new races, new spells and abilities, and flying mounts.
