Double Agent Targets Euro PS3 Launch
When Sony's new console arrives in Europe next March, you'll have a five-month-old game to keep you busy.
Sam Fisher's latest grizzly Splinter Cell adventure has already been out on Xbox 360, PC and current-gen consoles for a while, and Ubisoft has confirmed that it's coming to PlayStation 3 too, in time for launch.
Splinter Cell: Double Agent mixes things up for Sam. After falling into a deep funk when a close family member dies, he signs up for a special assignment that will see him become a double agent infiltrating a terrorist organisation called John Brown's Army.
The game PlayStation 3 owners pick up in March will carry a few enhancements over the Xbox 360 edition, including extra multiplayer maps and skins and support for the tilt-sensing Sixaxis controller.
The announcement will come as something of a relief for Sony, which has watched recently as exclusive after exclusive went to the Xbox 360 too. Just last month Sega said the previously PS3-exclusive Virtua Fighter 5 would also be coming out for the Xbox 360.
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot seems certain it will be a "must-have title" for the PS3. See if he's right when Splinter Cell: Double Agent launches alongside the console in March.
