EU Gets Final Fantasy XII in February
It's nearly a year late but Square Enix's latest is good enough that most people won't mind.
Localisation is the bane of video games in Europe, since it forces gamers to wait anxious months while experiences are translated for the multicultural and multilingual region. RPG fans have it worst. The magnitude of the task means many don't make it at all, but that's a fate Final Fantasy XII was never going to succumb to.
The latest game in the chart-topping series has been out in Japan since March and the US since October. Now Europeans finally have a date to encircle: 23 February.
That's close to when the PlayStation 3 will probably launch, so would-be purchasers may want to know whether it's worth sticking with the old generation for a last spin. If sales are any indication, it would appear so, since the game has recently sold its 4-millionth copy.
Square Enix hasn't yet confirmed whether Europeans will be able to buy the special edition Americans were treated too last year or if there will be any other extras included in the game.
