PSP Picks Up Crazy Taxi Pair
It's not the new instalment fans would like but rather the first two Dreamcast games with extras. First screens.
The trend these days is for developers to repackage PlayStation 2 games for the PSP but Sega is going one step better - or should that be one step back - and has announced a PSP Crazy Taxi game that includes the two first Dreamcast offerings.
Don't look at Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars as an attempt to simply repackage old material for profit. Sega's Matt Woodley says that the company has often thought that the whacky driving antics of Crazy Taxi would be a natural fit for the port-laden PSP.
Since the two games were developed first for arcades before stopping off on the Dreamcast, Fare Wars should suit those looking for a quick spell - perhaps at a traffic light.
Of course, just throwing the Dreamcast games in and calling it a day just won't do, so Sega has retooled the game to include a multiplayer component, allowing you and another cabbie to square off for tips and glory. This is only available for local wireless play.
The game is set in Crazy Taxi's hilly take on San Francisco and the street and subways of a New York City look-alike.
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars will be out on PSP this summer.
