Wing Island Cleared for March Landing
Pilotwings-'em-up headed soon to the Wii.
Pilotwings has ostensibly been off Nintendo's agenda for over a decade now, since Pilotwings 64 graced the Nintendo 64 in the late 1990s. There's nothing planned (yet) for the Wii, which is possibly why Nintendo is helping Hudson push its cartoony Wii flight game later this year.
Wing Island concerns itself with just one type of aircraft rather than the handful-or-so in Nintendo's own series. The game tasks you with guiding a biplane though ever-trickier situations using the motion-sensing abilities of the Wii remote almost exclusively.
There's a story mode set on a series of island and comprised of 27 missions that forms the bulk of the experience or you can play through less linear challenge modes. You can also invite a friend around for multiplayer.
Wing Island will be out across Europe for the Wii on 23 March.
