Epic Dodges Gears of War Sequel Nod
You'd think it was a given, but nobody is willing to blurt it out yet.
Given that Gears of War recently sold its 3-millionth copy it's a fair bet that Microsoft and developer Epic are thinking of announcing a sequel at some point, but that time isn't now.
Instead, we're asked to swallow coy remarks and teasing of the sort Epic's Jeff Morris was spinning in a recent chat with CVG.
"If people want another [Gears of War] I'm sure there'll be another one but there are certainly no announcements," Morris said, ostensibly holding off the revelation for a more notable occasion.
He did mention the quagmire that Epic seems to have waded into, with its side-project to Unreal Tournament turning into a hit in its own right.
"It's funny because I think Gears started after a lot of people were a little fatigued working on UT," Morris told CVG, "and now they're all probably making Gears for the rest of their lives, so the shoe has turned."
