Kingdom Hearts Circulation Hits 10m
Square Enix and Disney find massive success together.
If ever there was a series that was destined for success it was Kingdom Hearts. The collision of the worlds of Disney and Square Enix seems like a no-risk proposition. The latest numbers for the series seem to agree.
Square Enix said on Monday that worldwide the combined sales for the Kingdom Hearts series have now topped 10 million units.
The bulk of that comes from the original Kingdom Hearts, which sold more than a million copies in both the US and Europe and more than 3 million in Japan since 2002.
The recently released (in Europe, at least) sequel is also on track for big numbers, having sold 3.5 million copies worldwide already. Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the Game Boy Advance sold about 1.5 million copies since 2004.
Numbers are all well and good, but what fans want is news of the next one, and it's here that Square Enix clams up. It's a given that there are more entries coming, but Square Enix has yet to reveal which system(s) the series will move to next.
