Guitar Hero to Rock Wii, DS
The Xbox 360 is far from the only other system Activision has its eye on.
With Activision snapping up Guitar Hero publisher RedOctane and the franchise being handed over to Tony Hawk developer Neversoft, it was only a matter of time until new games were announced, and these new ones are aimed straight at Nintendo.
The PlayStation 2 and soon-to-be Xbox 360 Guitar Hero series will next be coming to both the DS and the Wii, according to comments made during Activision's recent earnings conference call.
Activision boss Mike Griffith said during the call that the company would be giving Nintendo's systems more attention going forward.
"In fiscal 2008, we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero," said Griffith.
There were scant details beyond that but given the timeline mention Activision is likely to announce its plans for the series soon.
