Zelda Goes Platinum on the Wii
Link's new adventure is a big success in the US.
Zelda fans had to wait a long time for Link's most recent adventures in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to arrive, but they spared no time in tracking down the elfin hero.
Nintendo said last week that after less than three months on sale, Twilight Princess has already sold more than a million copies in the US alone - and that's only on the Wii. According to the company's numbers, that makes it the fastest selling launch game in a decade, when stable mate Mario sent the Nintendo 64 off in style with Super Mario 64.
Nintendo declined to comment on specific sales figures for the game in Europe or Japan, but it appears that the reception outside the US has been no less hot.
In Japan, the game has sold nearly 400,000 units, though that is a long way off the performance of system herald Wii Sports, which has sold around a million copies so far.
