Okami Flounders as Battlestations Soars
It may be one of the best games on the system, but that doesn't seem to be enough for Okami - not yet at least.
Capcom has been on a roll lately. Dead Rising and, more recently, Lost Planet were both big hits for the company, but the Capcom name alone wasn't enough to spare critical favourite Okami from the harsh indifference of the public this weeekend.
Instead of white wolves and painted Japanese vistas Britons seemed more excited about recreating the pivotal air battles of the Second World War in Battlestations: Midway or commanding the wacky hijinks of the Little Britain duo - the latter finishing just a 1,000 sales behind the top finisher.
And where are the Wii games? They've featured prominently since launch, but games for Nintendo's system are finding themselves lower and lower on the charts. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves is still the best-placing Wii game, though it only managed a place at No. 21.
No such problems for the DS. New Super Mario Bros is back in the Top 10 again and Dr Kawashima's Brain Training is still hanging around in the Top 20.
The Top 10 games for the week ending 10 February, as determined by Chart Track, are below:
- Battlestations: Midway (Eidos)
- Little Britain: The Video Game (Blast)
- FIFA 07 (EA)
- Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (Konami)
- Sega Mega Drive Collection (Sega)
- Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Capcom)
- Need For Speed: Carbon (EA)
- The Sims 2: Pets (EA)
- New Super Mario Bros (Nintendo)
- Cars (THQ)
