Quake Wars Erupts on PS3, Xbox 360
Id's shooter is PC-exclusive no longer.
Id's Quake series is getting attention again thanks to the upcoming prequel, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, which sees man and Strogg go head-to-head in multiplayer combat. Now the creators have announced that in addition to PC, the game will also be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Enemy Territory, Quake Wars delves back into the past of the successful series, telling a new story that predates the battle between the Global Defence Front and the alien Strogg forces seen in Quake II.
What's really getting people excited is the prospect of a multiplayer-focussed shooter, where up to five classes in each faction will go at it in 16-player matches.
The Xbox 360 version is being worked on by Nerve Software, which previously worked with Id on Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War for Xbox, while PS3 duties are being performed by Z-Axis, which is fresh off last year's X-Men movie tie-in game.
