Elite Beat Agents Series Dancing Again
iNiS's should-be-more-popular rhythm series is getting a Japanese sequel.
Europeans will have to wait until this summer to savour the musical delights of Elite Beat Agents for the DS but in Japan Nintendo is already gearing up to put out another game in the series.
Among the list of games Nintendo has confirmed for release this year is Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, which, according to IGN, translates to Burn! Hot Blooded Rhythm Soul!
Little is known about this next game in the series other than that it will allow up to four people to play together. The game will likely keep the tap-'n'-trace gameplay, where you tap the screen and trace out shapes to the beat of pop songs.
The Ouendan series has been something of an underground hit since it debuted in 2005.
The game released outside of Japan as Elite Beat Agents is actually based on a Japanese game called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. Both feature snazzy dancing and tapping along to a dozen or so songs, with the J-rock-heavy Japanese track list replaced with more Western friendly songs for its release outside Japan.
Elite Beat Agents will be out for the DS in Europe later this year, while the next game in the series will be out in Japan, also later this year. Find out more about Elite Beat Agents in our full review.
