LocoRoco Creator Hints at PS3 Sequel
Are the jiggly heroes coming to Sony's new system?
The creator of last year's PSP puzzler LocoRoco has dropped hints that the team's previously announced follow-up is coming to the PS3.
Speaking at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week, LocoRoco director Tsutomo Kuono said that he would like to make a sequel with better AI amongst the blob-like characters, improved graphics and more advanced controls, according to IGN.
"I can't elaborate any further, but you can probably guess what all that means," Kuono is reported as saying.
When asked directly during a Q&A session Kuono could not confirm that a sequel was headed to the PS3, saying only: "I can't comment, but I won't let our fans expectations down."
Though Sony has yet to formally announce the sequel to LocoRoco, it's existence was outed by Sony executive Phil Harrison at the D.I.C.E. Summit in February.
Sony has increasingly turning to its PS3 download store to release simpler games such as flOw and Super Rub A Dub and even more fully featured ones such as Warhawk. Does that mean LocoRoco will be a download-only game on the PS3? Sony refused to comment on the matter when we approached them.
